COTW has a few challenges and unlocks throughout the DLCs to unlock special weapon skins. Some are ways to get good weapons that won’t unlock until later or that are pretty expensive.
Rangemaster .338 Championship
Unlock by completing the Challenge Circles challenge quest in Parque Fernando.
This is a nice skin for the .338 and it allows you to get the gun earlier than usual if you do it right. This also allows you to get a .338 for free, which will help with money. You must still unlock the ammo to use with the gun via Rifle Score.
FL Sporter .303 Laminated
Unlock by completing the Te Awaroa mission, A Favor For A Friend. First, you pick up the rifle from the helicopter wreckage. It’s sent for repairs, after which you must then go to a specific outpost and pick the repaired gun up.
The gun skin looks great, and the .303 is a great gun. This is an easy and good way to get the gun if you are running low on cash as it’s free.
Martensson 6.5MM Rayo
Unlock by completing the Cuatro Colinas side quest line for Don Miguel.
This is a long quest line that opens up after completing the main quest line, and is the most challenging quest line to unlock anything in the game to me.
The Gun is beautiful, and it’s a great reward.
Zagan Varminter .22-250
Unlocked in the 2nd objective of the 3rd main mission in Emerald Coast.
You can buy this for 7,000 credits as well, but it’s an either or situation. There is only the single variation.
.44 Gaucho Magnum
Unlock by completing the main story line of Parque Fernando.
This is a beautiful .44 Magnum handgun skin, and is well worth unlocking. You still have to have the proper handgun score to purchase this version even though it’s free.
Grankin’s Shotgun
Unlocked by picking it up off the bed in Grankin’s Cabin in the main story mission “No Such Thing” in Medved Taiga. Grankins Cabin is located at -9409, -10266
At one time, you could just go to Grankin’s Cabin and pick up the weapon. This is how I obtained it the first time. This has apparently been patched and you now have actually be on the misson.
This is not just a rusty, dirty, and gritty skin for the Caversham 12G Shotgun. This version has better Accuracy, Recoil, Reload, and Hipshot Stats than the base model.
Couso Model 1897 Soldado 16G
Unlocked during the 8th main mission in Rancho Del Arroyo. You will come to a mission where you have to clean up some rocks, and find a box. You must go back to the main outpost, find a key, and open the box. The gun is inside and sent off for testing and restoration. I till then be available in the store for free once it’s been restored.
This is just another skin for the gun, but this version is free. This can be obtained quick and easily.
